BSL Infrastructure has a proven track record in providing services of international standard to its private and public sector clients in Eastern, Central and Southern Africa. We have vast experience in the construction of fuel storage depots, tank farms, petroleum refineries, pipelines, power plants, roads, a high-end residential complex and solarisation solutions in the commercial and industrial sector among other projects.
We has so far undertaken key projects in Zambia, Tanzania, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Kenya as showcased in the sectors below.
Construction of 7 Petroleum Depots in Zambia
BSL was subcontracted by Dalbit International to construct 7 petroleum depots in various towns and cities in Zambia, as well as to refurbish existing depots on behalf of the Government of Zambia.
The new fuel storage centers were aimed at increasing the country's storage capacity by a further 53.5 million litres. These depots are located ni Lusaka, Ndola, Solwezi, Mongu, Mpika, Mansa and Chipata.
Thermal Power Plant in Ndola
BSL was involved in the construction of the 105 MW Ndola Energy Company Limited thermal power plant situated in Ndola, Zambia. The plant was constructed in 2 phases with phase one generating 48 MW commissioned in December 2013, whilst phase 2, generating 57 MW was commissioned in February 2017. The engines are powered by Wärtsilä.
Under phase 1, BSL constructed product and fire water tanks with a combined capacity of 5.5 million litres. It also constructed their associated piping to and from the engine hall and around the power plant area. Additionally, BSL built the roads and storm water drainage system.
In phase 2, BSL was contracted for all works including procurement, supply, delivery, erection and installation of Civil, Mechanical &Electrical works related to the construction. BSL led the project from greenfield site to commissioning stage.
Malawi Cargo Terminal Pipeline
BSL was involved in the construction of a 3.2 km, 300 mm diameter cross-country pipeline from the fuel receiving Kurasini oil jetty to Malawi cargo terminal at Dar es Salaam, and the replacement of the wagon loading transfer pipelines at the terminal.
